Welcome to Kea Community Primary School

I GIVE, WITHOUT THOUGHT OF RECEIVING

I LIVE, TO HELP ALL LIFE SEE LIGHT IN DARKNESS

I LOVE, EXPECTING NOTHING IN RETURN

FOR I AM THE HEART

WITHIN THE STONE

We are currently running a Crowdfunder in order to fund a memorial statue for former pupil Chris Parry, who was tragically killed whilst carrying out humanitarian work in Ukraine. If you would like to know more, or even donate, then please follow this link

I am immensely proud to welcome you to our wonderful community primary school, located just a stone’s throw from the centre of the historic Cornish city of Truro, serving the local community for over 130 years.

And whilst a stone’s throw we may be, you would never know how close to the city we are once you arrive at our incredible location.

We have magical school grounds.

Our outside spaces are full of rich and varied learning opportunities for all our pupils: storytelling in our beautiful orchard space; outdoor education, wellbeing activities, drama and art in our recently installed yurt.  Growing vegetables in our polytunnel and garden or exploring the wildlife and vegetation in our pond area- not to mention our selection of sports courts, pitches and playgrounds!

We really are spoilt for choice when it comes to providing the very best in outdoor learning.

We also take great pride in our school building and the learning that takes place inside the classroom. We have an experienced and highly-skilled staff group who work amazingly hard to offer the most exciting curriculum to our lovely and lucky pupils.

We value reading incredibly highly and work with the mindset that not only will all children learn to read in their time at our school, but they will also learn to love reading. We have a massive range of exciting reading materials, as well as a host of cosy reading nooks within the school, and story time is very firmly established as a priority on our daily class timetable.

Our Personal, Social and Emotional Development curriculum is carefully planned to support pupil wellbeing as well as providing them with the tools to understand and maintain their own good mental health.

Our wider curriculum is just as important and whether it is a STEM subject, history, music, art, French, geography, RE or PE- our goal is simple: we want our hard work to foster a lifelong love of learning in every pupil that comes to our school.

We share our site with Kea Pre-School and Out-Of-School Club, who work alongside us with equal vigour, to provide the very best for children in their care.

We would love to show you our school.  We are extremely confident that you will love it just as much as we do!

Please do contact the office to arrange a tour- and please come prepared to explore our enchanting outside space with us- welly wearers welcome!

‘Kea stands out for me as a school that is also good at the things which are harder to measure...it is a wonderful community where people care what happens and there is a great deal of teamwork, respect and creativity.’  (A parent)
